Xero Global App Awards 2025 Competition
Terms & Conditions
1. This competition (Competition) is run on behalf of Xero Limited (Xero us, we, or our), and is open from 8:00am on 26 August 2025 to 11:59pm on 19 October 2025 AEST when nominations close (the Competition Period). Xero may extend, cancel or amend this Competition and/or review and update these terms and conditions (Terms) on its website at any time, at its sole discretion. By entering the Competition, an entrant (Entrant, you or your) agrees to be bound by the Terms.
Who Can Enter?
2. To be eligible to enter the Competition, Entrants must:
2a. be a resident of one of the following regions - Australia, New Zealand, Canada, United States of America, Singapore, UK, Ireland or South Africa - prior to, and for the duration of, the Competition Period;
2b. be at least 18 years of age;
2c. have developed, or work for a company that has developed, an app that is listed on the Xero App Store (excluding Xero owned apps and bank feed apps), prior to, and for the duration of, the Competition Period .
3. Xero employees, directors and their immediate family (including partners and spouses) are not eligible to enter the Competition.
How to Enter
4. In order to enter the Competition, an Entrant must complete and enter a valid submission in respect of their app via the https://developer.xero.com/global-app-awards-2025 website (Submission) for their relevant region(s) and selected “Award Categories” (each an Awards Category) and complete the questions outlined on that website under the “Award Criteria” (the Awards Criteria) during the Competition Period.
5. Each Submission must be submitted in good faith and based on real life experiences of the Entrant. Submissions cannot be amended after they have been submitted so please ensure all of the information is accurate and correct prior to submitting.
6. There is a limit of one (1) entry per Entrant. Any duplicate entries or entries received after the expiry of the Competition Period will be void. No purchase or payment of any kind is required to enter the Competition.
Awards and Prizes
7. The Competition consists of the following Awards Categories:

7a. In order to be eligible for a Regional Award, the nominated app must be available in the specified region that is selected in the Submission.
7b. In order to be eligible for a Global Award, the nominated app must be available in at least all of the following regions: Australia, UK, and US.
8. An Entrant may enter more than one Award Category, provided that each nomination contained within the Entrant’s Submission clearly addresses the specific Awards Criteria relevant to the Awards Category being entered.
9. Entrants will have a chance to win one of the following prizes:
9a. If selected as a finalist in an Award Category (Finalist):
9ai. Recognition as a Xero Global App Awards 2025 Finalist across the Xero Developer website, on Xero App Store, blogs and social media; and
9aii. Promotional kit,

9b. If selected as a winner of an Award (Winner):
9bi. Recognition as a Xero Global App Awards 2025 Winner across the Xero Developer website, on Xero App Store, blogs and social media; and
9bii. Promotional kit; and
9biii. Promotion in relevant regional newsletters; and
9biv. Inclusion in the Top Apps ‘Most awarded’ category for 2025,
(Winning Prize)
(together the Prizes and each a Prize). There is a limit of one (1) Winning Prize per Entrant.
10. All Finalist and Winner Prizes will be fulfilled by Xero or its nominated partners following the official Finalist announcement and Winner announcement, respectively. Xero reserves the right to substitute any prize (or any part of it) for an alternative of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond its control make it necessary to do so.
Selection of Finalists and Winners
11. The selection of Finalists and Winners will follow the judging process outlined on the Global App Awards website, using the Awards Criteria specific to each Award Category. Selection will take place in two rounds:
11a. Round 1: A shortlist of Finalists will be determined for each Award Category and announced on or around 23 October via the Global App Awards website.
11b. Round 2: Winners will be selected from the pool of Finalists and announced on or around 2 December via the Global App Awards website.
12. The Competition process and selection of Winners from the pool of Finalists will be overseen and managed by judges from Xero and external parties (Judges). With the exception of the People’s Choice Award, for the purpose of determining each Winner, the Judges will evaluate each Submission according to its creativity, originality, and alignment to the Awards Criteria (each criterion weighted equally). The Submissions provided by the Winners will be scored according to the criteria described in the Awards Criteria (with the top scoring being the best Submission). If any regional or global Award receives less than four (4) entries then Xero may remove that regional or global Award at its sole discretion.
13. For the People’s Choice Award, the Winner will be determined by public vote. Voting will take place via the Global App Awards website during the Competition Period, and the Entrant receiving the highest number of eligible votes will be selected as the Winner. Xero reserves the right to disqualify votes deemed fraudulent or manipulative, including the use of bots, vote farms, or other inauthentic methods to submit duplicate or fake votes.
14. The Winners will be notified via email at least 3 days before the official announcement goes live on the Global App Awards website. If a Winner does not respond within 7 days from the date on which they are first notified by email or phone, Xero reserves the right to withdraw the Prize (in which case the Winner will be deemed to have forfeited the Prize) and another Winner shall be selected having regard to the criteria set out above.
15. Xero’s decisions on all matters relating to this Competition (including but not limited to selection of the Winners by the Judges, awarding of the Prizes, the nature of the Prize and the operation of the Competition) will be final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding any such matters.
General Terms
16. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Xero, and the Judges, each of their affiliates and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, representatives, and agents, including without limitation any judges of the Competition (together, the Released Parties) shall not be liable in any way (including, without limitation, in negligence), for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered (including, without limitation, direct, indirect or consequential loss) or for any loss or damage or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the Competition, or acceptance, possession, or use or misuse of any Prize, and you hereby release the Released Parties from any claims or damages arising out of or in connection to your participation and/or entry in the Competition and/or your receipt, acceptance, possession or use or misuse of any Prize awarded in this Competition.
17. Xero does not warrant that the Prize will meet the Finalists or Winners’ requirements or that it will be suitable for any particular purpose. To avoid doubt, all implied conditions or warranties are excluded in so far as is permitted by law, including (without limitation) warranties of merchantability and fitness for purpose.
18. By entering the Competition, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information by Xero and the external Judges for the purposes of administering the Competition (Administrators). You acknowledge and agree that your Submission and any personal information collected from you will be used by Xero in accordance with Xero’s Privacy Policy (available at www.xero.com/nz/legal/privacy/). Xero may transfer and process personal information to countries other than the country you live in, such as Australia, New Zealand, and the United States, due to the location of our teams and service providers, including the Administrator. These countries may have laws different to the ones that apply in your country and we have appropriate safeguards in place to ensure your personal information remains protected.
19. By entering the Competition, you:
19a. agree to participate in any publicity related to the Prize and the Competition;
19b. consent to Xero, its subsidiaries or affiliates using your name, image, voice (including photograph, film and/or recording), business name, brand and photographs in any media for an unlimited period of time, to promote Xero and any of its other products; and
19c. grant Xero, its affiliates and sub-licensees a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, and sub-licensable licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish and display your Submission for any purpose, including future promotional, marketing or publicity purposes, in any media, without compensation, restriction on use, attribution or liability, in each case, without payment, remuneration or compensation being due to you.
19d. agree that such Submissions that entrant may submit to Xero or post online in connection with this competition, including all rights embodied therein, with the exception of personally identifiable information as identified in Xero’s Privacy Policy (Available at www.xero.com/nz/legal/privacy/), are deemed to be non-confidential and non-proprietary and Xero shall have no obligation of any kind with respect to such Submissions.
20. Xero may be required to publish or make available details of the Competition, including the surname and region of each Winner. You can object to your details being published or made available, or reduce the amount of information published or made available, by emailing privacy@xero.com - note Xero may still be required to provide your details as required by law.
21. Each Entrant warrants and agrees that:
21a. you are fully responsible for any materials you submit via the Competition including comments, recordings, documents and the Submission (Content);
21b. the Content is your original work that does not infringe any rights of any third party, including, but not limited to rights in copyright, intellectual property or privacy;
21c. your Content does not contain any false, misleading, or unlawful content;
21d. all information provided must be accurate, truthful, and in full compliance with applicable laws;
21e. Xero may remove, decline to publish or invalidate any Content or entry without notice for any reason whatsoever; and
21f. you will indemnify Xero for any breach of the Terms.
22. Each Finalist and Winner agrees that Xero may withdraw a Finalist’s or Winner’s right to their Prize if:
22a. Xero’s name is, or is likely to be in Xero’s reasonable opinion, damaged or brought into disrepute or ridicule by the Finalist or Winner or by being associated with the Finalist or Winner; or
22b. The Finalist or Winner is involved directly or indirectly in any situation (whether the relevant situation occurred before, during or after the Competition Period) which brings, or in the reasonable opinion of Xero is likely to bring, any of the Finalist or Winner, Xero or the Competition into disrepute, contempt, scandal or ridicule.
23. If there’s any part or provision of these Terms that is declared illegal or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, then the remainder of these Terms shall remain in full force and effect.
24. If you have a concern or complaint please contact our team at apisupport@xero.com in the first instance. We’ll work together to try to agree on a solution that is satisfactory to both of us. If after 2 months, we’re unable to reach an agreement (or if we haven’t been able to resolve a dispute we have with you after attempting to do so informally), you and we agree to resolve those disputes through binding arbitration or small claims court instead of in courts of general jurisdiction. You and we agree that any dispute must be brought in the parties’ individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding. THESE TERMS AND THE INTERPRETATION OF ITS TERMS SHALL BE GOVERNED BY AND CONSTRUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF THE PARTICIPATING COUNTRY OF THE ENTRANT WITHOUT REGARD TO ITS CONFLICTS OF LAWS TERMS. For any matters which are not subject to arbitration or resolution in small claims court as set forth in these Terms and/or in connection with the judicial enforcement of any arbitration award in connection with these Terms and/or the Competition, the parties irrevocably submit and consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and set out in the table below.

The foregoing notwithstanding, both parties retain the right to seek relief in small claims court for any dispute or claim falling within the scope of such court’s jurisdiction.
