Partnering in the ecosystem.

Ecosystem opportunities

Targeted campaigns

Xero works great for any industry, but to really show value in certain areas like retail & creative agencies, we love working with complimentary Add-on partners.

Add-on marketplace

Our showcase of the developers that make the ecosystem come alive. The Add-on marketplace generates tens of thousands of outbound leads to our partners every month.

Advisors

Thousands of accounting and bookkeeping partners are interested in finding the best apps for their clients. Connect online and through our Xerocon and roadshow events.

Make a global impact

Xero has developed a global sales channel, with offices in the USA, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.

Wherever you are and wherever you are looking to sell, the Xero partner channel can help you make an impact in new markets. And it’s always nice to see a friendly face in a new country.

Become a Partner

Xero Add-ons are the applications and services that integrate with Xero through the Xero API. We’re always looking for good solutions, and are happy to offer help throughout the process of becoming a certified Xero Add-on. It’s free to become a Partner.

1
Register with us

Great! You’ve made the first step. We’ll be in touch soon.

Register your interest in the partner program and the developer relations team will be in touch to discuss further.

2
Integrate your product with Xero

Check out our getting started guide for all the info you need to get started with the Xero API.

Once you’re a bit more familiar with our API we suggest you contact the Xero API team to discuss your intended integration in more detail. We can cover off any questions you have with Xero and the Xero Add-on partner programme.

We recommend you take an iterative approach and focus on getting a first version up and running with the basics as quickly as you can. If you have any questions during your development please don’t hesitate to contact the API team.

3
Demonstrate your integration to us

Once you’re ready with your integration, arrange a time with us to see a demo so we can make sure you have the best advice and assistance while building your integration.

4
Run a pilot test with Xero customers

Your integration will need to be tested in the real world with a range of Xero customers. Depending on the complexity of your integration, the pilot will need to run until we’re comfortable the solution is working well with a sufficient number of customers.

5
Have sufficient end user documentation

Your support documentation should include an overview of the integration, setup details, general usage instructions and FAQ’s. This information should be easily accessible by customers and for Xero to point customers at. Your documentation should be kept up to date.

If there are several setup steps, we recommend a few short (1-3 min) screen casts are produced to demonstrate the scope of integration and how to get up and running.

6
Produce a landing page

When we’re comfortable you’ve completed our requirements above the next step is producing a landing page to be linked to from the Xero Add-on marketplace.

The landing page for your website should contains details of:

  • The scope of the integration – the features and benefits to customers
  • Links to setup details, general instructions and FAQ’s

Full details and sample content for your landing page can be downloaded here. You will need to get Xero to review your landing page before you launch this.

7
Publicise your integration

We will work with you on creating a listing in our Add-on marketplace. We also need to make sure our sales and support teams are aware of your integration. For your listing in the Xero Add-on marketplace, we require:

  • Copy of your logo for display on a white background. Preferably two versions: 1 hi-res version, 1 small version for display in the Add-on marketplace with a width of 100px and max height of 100px
  • Description text: maximum length of 150 characters including spaces. Should not include the title of your product as this will be displayed above the text.

We’re here to help so if you have any questions about becoming a partner please let us know.

There is strong demand from existing customers, advisor partners and prospective Xero customers for custom application development and integration services that connect Xero to other software systems. These are promoted through the Xero Developer Partner program.
