Become an approved Xero API Developer
We welcome developers to work through our approval process so we can promote them in our solution directory. Custom integration services are most sought after in our core markets of New Zealand, Australia, UK & USA.
Approved Xero API developers are promoted to Xero customers and advisor partners in the custom integrations section of the Xero Add-on directory.
- Register your interest in becoming an approved developer
- Ensure you are familiar with both Xero and the Xero API
- Complete at least two Xero API integration projects
- Produce a landing page on your website which describes your custom Xero API development services
- Publicize your integration
Below we’ve broken down the steps to become an approved developer in more detail.
Complete this form to register interest in becoming a Xero Developer. Our Xero Add-on & Developer API team will get in touch to discuss our program in more detail.
Xero: Sign up for either a free trial of Xero, or use a Xero demo company to learn more about how the product works. Ideally you should be a Xero customer so you are thoroughly familiar with the day-to-day workings of Xero. Learn more about getting started with Xero.
Xero API: Start by reading our getting started guide for developers and signing up for either a free trial of Xero, or use a Xero demo company to learn more about how the product works. Here you’ll find information about how to sign up for a free Xero demo account and details about our developer API.
Step 3 – Complete at least two Xero API integration projects
We require an approved developer to have at least 2 integration projects completed with clients that are happy to act as a reference. Our preference would be to be able to check our logs for any errors, and drop an email to the project client and get confirmation everything is working well for them.
If you are having difficulty finding initial projects to get started with, you can check out our forums for opportunities or post up some details on your capabilities.
When we’re comfortable you’ve completed our requirements above we’ll send you some brand guidelines detailing how you can use the Xero logo etc on your marketing material, website etc.
You’ll need to produce a landing page for your website which contains details of:
- Services you provide
- Link to at least one case study based on a Xero integration project
- The official Xero Developer logo
We will work with you on creating a listing in our Add-on directory. We also need to make sure our sales and support teams are aware of your integration.
We’re here to help so if you have any questions about becoming a Xero Developer please let us know.
